Guys… My wife picked up a growler of the Golden Nugget IPA. As a home brewer, I don’t know why she does that occasionally. I have plenty of really good beer already and most of the time I’m unimpressed by other craft brews. Boy, was I happy with your beer. Great blend of bittering and aroma hops, smooth maltiness balances it very well. I was really impressed with the FRESHNESS of the beer. Great Job! One question – do you source the hops locally? They seemed to be right off the bine and into this brew.

Our beer is brewed locally and goes straight from our brewery to the tap so it is always fresh! Our hops come from a variety of well trusted domestic sources; we also grab up some very rare hops from around the world for our Hop Patrol Series IPAs! Would love to hear what you think of the ZeeLander (made with Nelson Sauvin hops from New Zealand) or the 1492 (Columbus hops).

Last night I went to my favorite tavern in Madison, Wisconsin. They were out of my favorite beer, but suggested an alternative. I was brought pint of Golden Nugget.

Hi Edward! That’s so great to hear! Thanks so much for your kind words, we do not bottle this beer (yet!) but we are in the process of expanding our production brewery and adding a filling line- should be bottling in 2013!
You can stop by and fill to-go growlers at our taproom in Decorah. Bring in your own 64oz (w/gov’t warning label) or you can buy the glass from us for $4.

Madison
This is by far one of my favorite beers. I have left bars when they are out to go to one that has some. Don’t get me wrong, I like all TG beers I have had, but this one is really great. I live for Pale Ale’s and IPA’s, but Golden Nugget is on top! Any chance you will be bottling this soon and sending it to Iowa City?
