For our 7th anniversary we decided to start doing something special, an annual cask competition from breweries from across the country.
Attendees will recieve a keepsake glass and be able to get a pour from each of the casks. You will also vote on which is the best cask with the winning brewery recieving a plaque as “The Best In Cask” and a matching plaque will be displayed in the bar for all to see.
Over the next few months we will be releasing more details about participating breweries and what their cask submissions will be.

-Why are you guys doing this event?
Partly because it is a way to celebrate our Anniversary starting this year and going forward. It also plays into one of the most important aspects of craft beer to us, that it is a community. Nothing is more about the craft beer community to us than being able to gather and discuss/sample beer with groups.
-How many casks will be there?
Right now the current line up is posted above. The line up is being limited to between 20 and 25 casks this year. We want to be sure everyone gets a chance to try all the casks and also that we are not overserving anyone.
-What size will the pours be?
Each pour will be 5 ounces. After 20+ cask pours, trust us…5 ounces will be enough.
-What size are the casks? Will there be enough for everyone?
All of the casks, excluding 1, will be firkins (10.8 gallons). We have the pour size and limit 1 pour per person per cask so that everyone will get the opportunity to try all of the casks. Only one cask will be first come, first serve until it is gone.
-What is included in the VIP tickets?
VIP Tickets will include a food voucher for $20 in food, reserved tables for your group, and other goodies to take home, and a complimentary ticket to a future beer event or dinner. Also you will have the only tables available for the event in the upper bar with servers for you area.
-Where will check in be?
We will have a table set out for check in right in front of the hotel/tavern (weatheer premitting). We will also have all of your “swag” and such there when you check in. If it is too cold, we will have check in in our upper bar. If you do not check in, you won’t be able to sample the beers. VIP ticketholders will have a separate check in table in order to spend up the process for them. Again this will be placed either outside or in the front of the bar depending on the weather. Check in for VIP tickets will also be 30 minutes earlier than general admission.
-What do we get at check in?
Your keepsake sampling glass, a wristband for sampling, and a punch/voting card for the event. For VIP guests you will also have a separate addition of
-What is the punch card for?
To make sure everyone is able to sample the casks we are limiting it to 1 pour per cask. Each punch card will have the breweries on it and will be punched once they are sampled. On the back of the cards will be spaces to write tasting notes and on the bottom will be where you fill in your votes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place casks. Once you have sampled all of the casks we ask that you turn in your cards so that we can tally all of the votes.
-Why are we voting?
We will be awarding plaques for Gold, Silver, and Bronze casks for the event. We will also be posting the annual results in the bar each year.
-This is an annual thing?
Well it is the first year we are doing it, but we are already starting to work on the line up for next year. We don’t want this to be an event that is the same every year so we plan on inviting new breweries every year to the festival in order to keep it as fresh as possible.
Also depending on feedback from this year’s event we will figure out how many breweries to include next year without sacrificing the quality of the event.
-What will we do for designated drivers for this event?
We will offer free entry and sodas for any designated drivers. However, that means NO sampling of beers.
